Martin came into my life when I was 12 & he was 19. I remember watching The Old Grey Whistle Test with him, one night during the late 1970s. They introduced a new group called the Electric Light Orchestra and, while Martin sat playing his ‘air guitar’, I was hooked. I’ll always think of Martin whenever I hear Mr Blue Sky and I hope he’s playing his air guitar somewhere up there now. XX
